09/23/14 :: New York City, USA

The United Nations Private Sector Forum 2014, held in New York City in conjunction with the Climate Summit, initiated by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, is what promises to be the most important business gathering on climate change in 2014. Business leaders are meeting at a critical time, a year ahead of the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference in Paris, where political leaders and their countries will aim to conclude a global climate agreement. The 2014 Summit will be a different kind of Climate Summit, and is aimed at catalyzing action by governments, business, finance, industry, and civil society.

At the Private Sector Forum, industry and business will be challenged to discuss effective measures to significantly advance corporate action on climate change and help limit global temperature rise to less than 2 degrees Celsius.

Clean technology development and deployment has a key role in supporting the Climate Summit’s objectives. In that context, please view Jupiter Oxygen’s article on pages 38 and 39 in “COP 19 CLIMATE CHANGE The New Economy” published in partnership with The Guardian Sustainable Business.
