Jupiter Oxygen and ISPAT Energy Mumbai signed a Marketing Agreement today

Jupiter Oxygen Corporation, Schiller Park, USA and ISPAT Energy Limited in Mumbai, India signed a Marketing Agreement today in Chicago. ISPAT will support Jupiter Oxygen with clean technology deployment in India, specifically targeting industrial energy efficiency and clean power generation from fossil fuels. Jupiter Oxygen’s high flame temperature oxy-combustion process achieves significant fuel savings and emission reduction in industrial furnaces. Jupiter Oxygen’s unique process applied to power plants enables efficiency gains in the boiler, cost effective carbon capture, air pollutant control, as well as heat and water recovery in an integrated system. Furthermore, Jupiter Oxygen and ISPAT will focus on CO2 utilization. Carbon capture and CO2 utilization strategies for coal fired power plants will be an important part of major economies’ transition to low carbon technologies and industries.

Meet with Jupiter Oxygen’s CEO, Dietrich M. Gross, at the World Business Summit on Climate Change

Meet with Jupiter Oxygen’s CEO, Dietrich M. Gross, at the World Business Summit on Climate Change

World Business Summit on Climate Change
Shaping the Sustainable Economy
Copenhagen, 24-26 May 2009

The World Business Summit on Climate Change is what promises to be the most important business gathering on climate change in 2009. Business leaders are meeting at a critical juncture, just six months before political leaders will gather at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP15) in Copenhagen to negotiate an ambitious agreement on climate change. At the same time the world is in the middle of the most serious economic crisis in decades.

The purpose of the World Business Summit on Climate Change is to address these two challenges at the same time: how to stimulate a green recovery and put the global community on a path to a prosperous and sustainable low-carbon future. Over the course of three days, business leaders will engage in the discussion on how the challenges of climate change can be turned into opportunity – a paradigm shift that has the potential to mark the beginning of the next industrial revolution, this time a green one.

Discussions at the Summit will look at what policies, incentives and investments can most effectively stimulate low-carbon growth, positioning the global community for a green recovery and a sustainable economy.

Jupiter presents its 'Oxy-Fuel Combustion Technology' at the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (AP6) meeting

Jupiter presents its ‘Oxy-Fuel Combustion Technology’ at the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (AP6) meeting

Jupiter’s Oxy-Fuel Combustion Technology: The Pathway for Immediate Clean Development Action In The Asia-Pacific Aluminum Recycling Industry…

Transfer of existing technologies to developing countries could considerably save energy and reduce emissions from their business-as-usual trends in the short term. The Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate, in particular, will focus on voluntary practical measures and best-practice technologies. The AP6 will create new investment opportunities, build local capacity, and remove barriers to the introduction of clean, more efficient technologies.

Jupiter Aluminum Corp. together with Jupiter Oxygen Corp. are presenting an advanced combustion technology for re-melting aluminum with significant results in energy savings and emission reduction. Jupiter’s oxy-fuel combustion technology is a patented process for combustion of fossil fuels with oxygen while excluding air.

Data for the U.S. shows a projected “energy efficiency savings opportunity” of 58% of energy used considering year 2004 average energy use per pound re-melted [SECAT, 2004]. In fact, Jupiter’s oxy-fuel combustion technology today is achieving this projection for continuous runs! When future increasing aluminum recycling energy needs in the Asia-Pacific Partnership are viewed the retrofit of aluminum recycling facilities with this oxy-fuel technology offers a tremendous potential of energy savings and emission reductions at favorable costs. The presentation shows the technical, economic and environmental aspects of oxy-fuel technology implementation and the chances for developing local markets in the Asia-Pacific-Partnership.
